Furniture

All furniture accommodations are arranged and provided through the DPRC in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

You are responsible for making a request for furniture accommodations with DPRC at least 3 weeks before the start of the term. Non-standard furniture or reserved seating (e.g., front of the classroom or close to an exit) will only be provided for disability related reasons and disability documentation must be provided. Requirements for disability documentation may be waived if the functional impact of your disability is readily apparent and can be visually verified by a DPRC Specialist.

The DPRC furniture accommodations will be clearly marked in the classroom with your initials and meeting times.  Faculty is asked to return chairs, table and other equipment if moved, to their original locations at the end of each class. The DPRC has the following types of furniture available:

  • Separate desk and chair sets
  • Wheelchair-accessible desk/table
  • Adjustable-height chair
  • Non-standard height tables

Additional accommodations may be provided and should be discussed with a Specialist.

Complete furniture request form and it will automatically relay your request to the DPRC in the form of an email.
