Psychological Disabilities

This page contains information and resources for students with psychological disabilities enrolled at SF State. Some of the information and resources are specific to students with psychological disabilities and some are relevant to all students with disabilities. The DPRC staff can assist you with coordinating reasonable accommodations. DPRC specialists review medical documentation and conduct an interactive interview with you to individually determine appropriate accommodations to provide equal access.

Symptoms associated with psychological disabilities may or may not have an impact on how you participate in an academic program. Under federal civil rights law, the university needs to provide you with reasonable accommodations related to the functional impact of your disability. Professional documentation of this impact by a psychiatrist or psychotherapist is requested from you when registering with the DPRC. This documentation along with your self-report helps the DPRC specialists to better assist you in identifying and setting up reasonable accommodations.
