Request For Interpreting or Real-Time Captioning Services

Printer-friendly version

Use this form if you are a SF State student or employee to request real-time captioning services or sign language interpreting needed outside of your regular course schedule for:

  • One-time events (advising appointment, meeting with instructor, field trip, final exams, university or department-sponsored events)
  • Recurring events (study groups, project meetings, faculty meetings, internships)
  • Students, if you have not added this accommodation to your Faculty Notification Letter in myDPRC, DPRC Staff may submit it on your behalf.

Note: For students or visitors interested in attending campus events, contact the event organizer or the department sponsoring the event to request services. If you are an event organizer, complete this form on behalf of the person(s) requesting services.

San Francisco State University follows the California State University Captioning Prioritization framework. If the event is being live streamed on a public facing web page, real-time captioning must be provided for that event. If you do not make arrangements for real-time captioning in advance, you may not live stream the event. Providing a live video display of the event to an overflow room without real-time captioning is prohibited.

As an alternative, if not open to the public, events may be recorded, edited, captioned and then uploaded as a captioned video to a public facing website after the event takes place.

Please submit requests 1-2 weeks in advance, if possible. An asterisk * means required field.
